ABOUT THIS TOOL

Instagram Post Preview for Mobile and Desktop

Check the appearance of an Instagram post before it goes live. ApiSeller's Instagram Post Preview lets you build a visual mockup with a username, profile photo, caption, and your own image or video. Switch between mobile and desktop layouts to see how your content might be presented in different contexts.

Preview a standard photo post, swipe through a multi-image carousel, examine a vertical Reel, or plan a Story with overlaid text. Media is loaded locally in your browser, so you can experiment without connecting an Instagram account or publishing anything.

HOW IT WORKS

Create Your Instagram Preview in Three Steps

01

Select a Content Type

Choose Post, Carousel, Reels, or Story. Each uses a layout designed for that format instead of stretching the same template.

02

Add Your Content

Enter a username and caption, upload your media, and customize details such as location, likes, or Story text when applicable.

03

Check and Export

Compare mobile and desktop previews, switch between light and dark appearance, and download a PNG mockup.

POSTS & CAROUSELS

Visualize Feed Content

Test how a photo, username, location, engagement details, and caption fit together in an Instagram-style feed card. For a carousel, upload multiple images and use the slide controls to inspect each one in order.

The active carousel slide is shown in the downloaded PNG, making it easy to review a specific frame with your team.

REELS & STORIES

Plan Vertical Content

Reels and Stories use a vertical preview with their own overlays and controls. Load a compatible video for in-browser playback or use a still image to mock up your cover or creative.

For video exports, the tool captures the frame currently available from the video element. Video is not converted or uploaded to a server.

FORMAT GUIDE

Which Preview Type Should You Use?

Type Best For Preview Shape
Post Single-image feed visuals and captions Square feed card
Carousel Multi-image tutorials, collections, and sequences Swipeable feed card
Reels Short vertical videos and cover concepts Vertical player mockup
Story Temporary vertical content and text overlays Vertical Story viewer

Important: These are illustrative Instagram-style previews. Instagram may display content differently depending on the app version, screen size, region, or future interface changes.

BEST PRACTICES

Make Every Preview More Useful

01

Test Both Devices

Check mobile first, then review desktop to catch awkward framing, long usernames, or captions that compete with the image.

02

Keep Text Readable

For Stories and Reels, place important information away from edges and interface overlays. Previewing is a guide, not an exact safe-zone guarantee.

03

Review Each Slide

Use consistent visual pacing in a carousel. Inspect every uploaded slide to confirm the message is clear throughout the sequence.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Instagram Post Preview FAQ

Can I preview Instagram Posts, Reels, Stories, and Carousels?

Yes. Choose a format from the content-type controls. The available settings and preview layout change with your selection.

Does this tool publish to Instagram?

No. It creates a visual preview only. It does not log in to your account, schedule content, or publish posts.

Can I switch between mobile and desktop previews?

Yes. Use the Mobile and Desktop buttons above the preview. Vertical Story and Reels media remains vertical in both views.

Can I use videos in a Reel or Story preview?

Yes. Upload a compatible MP4 or WebM video. Playback depends on which codecs your browser supports. You can also use a still image.

Does my uploaded media leave my device?

No. This preview tool loads your files locally in the browser. It does not send your media to an ApiSeller server.

What does Download PNG Preview save?

It saves a still mockup representing your chosen content type and device appearance. For video, it uses the frame currently decoded in the player, where available. It does not export a video file.

Will the preview look exactly like Instagram?

No. Instagram interfaces change and vary between devices. Treat the result as a design reference, not a pixel-perfect or official Instagram screenshot.

How many carousel images can I upload?

Up to 10 images in this preview tool. Use the carousel navigation arrows to view each slide, and remove individual files from the media list.
